Review of "Seven Sins A Second" by Sinamore

No thanx.

The artwork of Seven Sins A Second Gothic rock really isn't my cup of latté, 'specially not when it has that distinct Finnish sound tag

stuck to it. However, I have been known to enjoy it, when composed and performed at a highest level.
Sinamore offer us their second studio album here, and according to Napalm Records, this one is 10 steps in the right direction for the band. Gosh. Thanx for the heads up about the debut, then.

Seriously, this collection of 9 songs + an intro is quite possibly the least interesting album I've heard so far this decade, which does say a bit. Their highly 'original' form of gothic rock/metal mainly focuses around a riff driven sound with 'dark and emotional' male vocals (that are out of tune more often than in) and an attempt at a catchy chorus here and there. Now, Sinamore are competent musicians, and the production is, as mentioned, always flawless from Napalm. The tiny detail that I do miss however, is an ability to actually compose and create something meaningful, and something that hasn't been done by 150,000 other bands before them. And the worst thing is, Sinamore aren't even as good as those 150,000 other bands. Tough luck.

I'll keep this as short as possible, to create a deterrent tendency for the public out there: Stay the hell away from this release. If you adore the genre more than what's healthy, you may check them out on your own risk. But don't say that I didn't warn you.

Rating: 10/100
